Craft Show Display

Sid says: "My question is... Do you need to define the parameters of your booth? These are interior shows. Do I need to put up some kind of wall around my space? If so, could people share with me some very inexpensive ideas?"

Your booth space is usually limited to the space immediately surrounding your table(s). The one fair I’ve been in asked if I needed wall space. I said yes, and the dispay we created for the wall involved purchasing a wheeled laundry hanger rack of pvc pipe (cheap!) which we covered with black velvet fabric, and wired hanging wire lines across. We hung necklaces using xmas tree ornament hooks which we could take off easily. Only one customer stepped around our table to look at the jewelry. We concluded it must have felt like they were going behind the counter… we considered that display a failure. This year we are designing an overhead “header” on which to hang jewelry. We hope this well make customers more comfortable, like the jewelry is a curtain between them and us so they aren’t feeling stared at, and also the enclosure may give some sort of comforting “room” feeling. Who knows??? It’s trial and error for us at this point. Good luck!!
