Alternative Web Site Marketing

Sunday July 23, 2006
I overheard a crafter talking to another crafter the other day complaining that their Web site had not generated one sale for them. They said when they put the site online, they expected immediate results from new customers who would find them through the Internet. Well, that rarely happens. I also noticed that they did not have their Web site address listed on their business cards, or displayed in their booth. If you want results from your online venture, there are offline tactics you have to use to get exposure for your site. Print that address everywhere you print your business name. Tell all of your customers about it. Most of all, do not expect magical results by simply building a site!

(1) Kingfisher Designs says:

When I wrote my eBook ShowCase: Develop, Maintain and Market Your Own Jewelry Web Site I planned to write 100 integrated marketing activities to draw traffic to your Web site. The actual count is 116 and with each edition, more are added.

If you make a list of how to publicise your site address (answering machine message, packaging, online signature —) see how many you might come up with.

Good luck with your site,
Louise
