Taxes And Your Business

Sunday March 11, 2007
Many people are finished with taxes this time of the year. However a lot of business owners may be putting off this dreaded task! Remember that if you do not want to, or know how, to take care of your taxes, you should always hire a professional. If the big chain tax preparers are too impersonal for you, try finding a good CPA who you can ask questions throughout the year. Many CPAs will offer consultations for you so that you can structure your business to grow as painless as possible in the tax field. I sit down with my CPA about once a year to find out if changes I am making to my business are smart from a tax standpoint. If you are paranoid about tax authorities like I am, the few bucks spent for a professional CPA are well spent!

Hey, don’t knock the “big chains.” I am a tax pro at H&R Block and we have year round tax and financial advice for our clients. We spend about 45 minutes or more on the initial interview (to make sure we get to know you); we get you the best, LEGAL refund; satisfaction is guaranteed — if you don’t like what we do, take back your papers and don’t pay a dime. (I’m a potter, too, so I’m into the craft scene. I do taxes in the spring and spend more time at the wheel the rest of the year!!)
