Which Credit Card Processor To Use

Sunday April 15, 2007
Please offer your feedback on accepting Credit cards to help answer this questions for newbies! Here's my input: Ahh, the age-old question of who to use to process credit cards... Who should you use and who should you avoid? Since there are thousands and thousands of choices today, you can definitely get a very good deal or a very bad deal depending on which company you choose. More importantly, you can also get robbed if you choose some illegitimate company on the Internet. I always recommend starting out by checking first with your local bank. Whoever you have a checking account with should offer merchant account services. So start there. Then check with some of the well-known online processors such as PayPal. Compare rates and services and go from there! Even if your local bank may have slightly higher fees, it may be worth the added expense to have someone local you can talk to if you need help.

We decided to take credit cards a couple of years ago. I think that we have made larger sales because of the cards. Every time I turn around, it seems I lose more money in fees.

I hope someone has a good credit card company and is willing to share with us.
