Tell Your Story

Sunday August 5, 2007
If you sell at shows, whether it be wholesale or retail, a very powerful marketing tool can be the story of how you got started creating your craft. People, especially at retail venues, are interested in how you got started and how you come up with ideas. Practice and polish your story and use it often when talking to customers. You'll b surprised how often people will buy, when they find your story interesting.

Sometimes telling the story if difficult. My craft product well developed after the stillbirth of my son. I think it would make people feel uncomfortable. I try to keep myself a little distant, if they ask I will tell them

Wow. I hadn’t thought of telling my story. I will try this out. I am a bit shy but, I will see how it goes. Thanks.

Telling the story of how I got started is asked sometimes. However, I don’t really volunteer the information unless someone is interested. Polished? 0000 steel wool. :-)
