Collecting On Bad Checks
Sunday August 12, 2007
The biggest problem facing crafters who have accepted a check that turns out to be bad is that if you have taken the check at an out-of-town venue, it is very hard to collect. In most cases, you must file the case in the county where it was written.
That means more traveling expenses and if the deadbeat who wrote the check does not show, then you must return to court at
another time. So, first, try to contact the person whop wrote the check and see if they will make good on the payment. Next,
if the amount is not very much money, you may be better off just absorbing the expense and moving on....
