Keeping Your Cool

Sunday August 19, 2007
Record-breaking temperatures in much of the nation are rough on everyone. But crafters especially need to watch out for the heat! Outdoor shows can be grueling and when the temperature gets in the triple-digits, it can be deadly! Make sure you drink lots of water, stay in the shade as much as possible. And when you can, take a break and get in the air-conditioning for a while. Those summer festivals can be great money-makers, however when the heat is on make sure you do what you can to protect yourself from it.

Good advice. I just finished my first outdoor show..record breaking heat/humidity on Saturday. We had some electricity, so my husband rigid up a light weight window fan suspended from the tent’s ceiling. Between that and 6 bottles of water, we survived. Also, I think the fan brought folks into our tent. KEEP COOL!!
