Backing Up Your Computer Data

Sunday September 9, 2007
Having just gone through another computer crash, I am reminded of the importance of backing up data. If you keep business records on your computer this is doubly true! Make regular back ups of things like accounting data, your My Documents folder. Any images you use for your business, and any personal data you can't live without. If you take a few minutes once a week to save your data, you will save your self a lot of heartache with that inevitable computer crash happens!

Backing up such important imformation as listed in this article is important enough that each time you have made any change to it, back it up right now. During long entries, do at least a “save as” or back up, every 15 minutes. A power failure, the cat playing with your power strip or failure of the computer itself can happen in the twinkling of an eye. I know, it has happened to me many times.
