2008 Buyers Market of American Craft

Tuesday January 22, 2008
If you are a wholesaler of crafts, you will likely be attending this event. However, even if you are just considering the wholesale experience, this would be a good event to attend for the informational seminars alone. Included in the information you will receive at the Buyers Market is a free seminar for retailers and artists, focusing on ways to appeal to the young (age 35 and under) collector – what they’re buying, what appeals to them. And what sounds like a great debate, featuring artists who sell online and artists who don’t, with representatives of both groups explaining why, what the business repercussions are, and what balance they have to strive for in dealing with online sales vs. wholesale clients.

Thanks for the great info! I have a question: if you are looking into starting a shop, do you need a tax # and paper work set up to get info on prices that you can buy supplies for? Thank you
