American Craft Council Fall Conference Being Held in Minneapolis

If you’re not a member of the American Craft Council, you really should check out their website and the numerous benefits that come from being a member of this organization. Besides the four craft shows they sponsor each year (Baltimore, Atlanta, St. Paul and San Francisco) you also receive a subscription to American Craft magazine and have access to timely, relevant information affecting the craft community.

The fall American Craft Council conference is being held this October 15-17 in Minneapolis. It’s theme is "Creating a New Craft Culture" and couldn't be more timely.

The line-up of speakers include:

• Rob Walker, author of Buying In: The Secret Dialogue Between What We Buy and Who We Are, a topic I briefly cover in my article about Creating a Craft Business for Your Market.
• Sonya Clark, chair of craft and materials studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.
• Faythe Levine, artist, curator, author and indie filmmaker of the documentary, Handmade Nation.
