If your art or craft involves metalsmithing you may be familiar with Argentium® Silver which is tarnish-resistant, firescale-free and age-hardenable sterling silver material. There was talk a couple of months ago that the supply of Argentium® Silver will no longer be available in the United States.
Apparently, Argentium International transferred manufacturing rights to a new mill. While the new mill is in the process of gearing to produce sheet and wire products, Rio Grande is assuring its customers that they have an adequate stock of Argentium® Silver. I just visited their web site and they do have a complete line of Argentium® Silver wire, plate and findings.
While on the subject of Rio Grande, I love the new web site design. While I appreciate getting the big paper catalogues, it's so much easier to order from Rio Grande with the new shopping cart. And, I'm slightly out of the loop on their Argentium® Silver selection - they now have some gorgeous mokumé gane sheet. I highly recommend checking it out!
