What are the best means of weighting down a canopy? PVC, weights and anchoring to the ground are the most common ways to hold a canopy down. What do you use for the most effective means of support?

We filled 5 lb. coffee cans with concrete which were placed at each of the four corner stakes. Also, used lead weights when my husband found some heavy enough.
