No Funding!

Sunday January 7, 2007
A big problem with most people regarding starting a craft business (or any business for that matter) is lack of capital to start the business. Can you actually start a business with little no money? Well, with "no money" that would be pretty hard to do! However, you can start a craft business with very little money. Start slowly, creating as much as an inventory as you can with the money you have. Very small craft show fees can easily be less than $50. While these events are not going to bring in thousands of dollars, they will give you somewhere to start. Save a little bit of money from your profit as you go and later on you can look into bigger and better marketing avenues. I'm curious, how many of you started with little to nothing and are running a successful business?

I am starting a photographic business. I have a digital camera, and I have a computer. I can create lovely backgrounds, and then super-imposing the photo’s of children, people or animals on to it. I phoned photographers and found out prices. I will charge much less, and make a better picture. I have an eye for a good photo and I am very good with color. I will also do business cards, and stuff for using on the computer, like signature tags. I will add all these to a CD and the customer can have it printed or use on his computer only. I can give more detail about size, etc., but that is not relevant.
