Online Sales
Sunday September 16, 2007
These days most crafters have some type of Internet presence. However, many crafters report that Internet sales are very
small to non-existent. If you sell your crafts through an online venture, you must watch out for the pit falls of online sales.
First, allow plenty of time to build up your online clientele. Secondly, do not "spam" when trying to sell your wares to the
cyber-public. And most importantly, make sure that your online entity has enough pictures and information to help a savvy
shopper know exactly what they are purchasing and for how much. Too many online sales are lost from a lack of information
such as no shipping prices being clearly posted.

I never had much luck with storefront on eBAY.Got some sales but not enough to pay for the storefront.
I tried ebay with my work and had absolutely no luck at all, I really don’t think buyers are looking for artisan quality handcrafts on ebay. I also do not get a lot of hits on my website either, a bit of business but not much, although I would not be without it since you can refer people there easily if they have questions.
I sell directly from my site; if you advertise; keep up with the search engines and stand the test of time your customer will come back.
I use auction sites to promote my web site only, I won’t spend much on them anymore.
