Marketing your crafts can be done in a variety of ways. If you are having problems selling your products through one route, it may be time to try another. Here are a few steps to follow to get you started.

Difficulty: Average
Time Required: 60 minutes to months

Here's How:

  1. Find local craft shows, fairs or festivals where you can sell your products.
  2. Sell your crafts at church and community sponsored bazaars.
  3. Place your products in consignment shops.
  4. Have 'home shows' to sell to family, friends and coworkers.
  5. Visit local gift shops and retailers to see if they are interested in carrying your product.
  6. Attend wholesale hand made gift markets.
  7. Advertise in mail order magazines, such as Country Sampler publications.
  8. Develop a Web site to market your crafts online.
  9. Hire a sales representative to help sell your crafts.

Tips:

  1. Start out slowly and avoid debt, using your profits to grow your business.
  2. For best results in developing an online marketing strategy, hire a professional developer.
  3. Get advice from other craftspeople about which shows to attend.
