What Types of Arts or Crafts do you Handcraft?
I work with stained glass and warm glass. My traditional stained glass gift items include framed inspirational sayings and suncatchers. I also custom frame wedding invitations. My warm glass line includes jewelry, candle holders, sushi dishes, purse hangers, wine bottle stoppers, slumped bottles, and suncatchers.
Do you Sell Wholesale or Retail?
I am primarily a retailer, however I do occasionally sell some of my items, such as my framed sayings, at wholesale. Some of my jewelry items are too labor intense or are OOAK and therefore don't suit the wholesale market. I do only a couple shows a year and sell primarily from my web site at http://www.glassylady.com
Lessons Learned
- Practical crafts will sell well in any economy. However, if you make something that is a non-essential, you will have an uphill battle.
